    Shape Up the Y Weigh

    Weight Loss Challenge

    Transform your health in just 8 weeks with this results-driven program! Follow the plan to the letter, and you’ll lose fat weight, look better, feel better, and improve your overall health. Challenge runs February 4 through March 27.
    What’s Included:
    • A weight loss program led by a Registered Dietitian and Personal Trainer
    • Nutrition and exercise classes every Tuesday & Thursday evening
    • A personalized activity plan to boost your metabolism
    • Macro calculations for fats, carbohydrates, and protein
    • Weekly classes on essential topics like:
      • Label reading
      • Eating out
      • Heart-healthy eating
      • Grocery store tours
      • Managing cravings & more!
    Plus, a MyZone Belt is included! Track your heart rate, earn Myzone Effort Points (MEPs), and stay motivated with instant feedback and social connections.
    Initial assessments will be scheduled the week prior to the program start.

    Maintain Campaign

    November 17 - January 1, 2025

    The YMCA’s Maintain Campaign is here to help you navigate the holiday season without compromising your health and fitness goals. For a small entry fee of just $5, you not only commit to staying on track but also stand a chance to win big by maintaining your wellness goals throughout the holidays.

    After the New Year’s holiday, return to the YMCA for your post-holiday weigh-in. If you fall within + or – 2 lbs of your initial pre-holiday weight, you’ll be eligible to share the pot of entry cash with others who successfully maintained during the holidays!

    Fall into Fitness Challenge

    Play BINGO and Win Prizes!

    Join the fun with the Y’s Fall into Fitness BINGO challenge starting September 9 through October 7! Pick up your BINGO card at the front desk (Youth, Adult & Active Older Adult cards available). When you get BINGO (5 in a row up, down, horizontal or diagonal), turn in your card and be entered to win a YMCA Stanley Cup or YMCA hoodie! If you get your BINGO card fully blacked out (all squares completed), you’ll be entered to win the grand prize, a wonderfully and rejuvenating 60-minute massage. Pick up your card today to get started!

    Swim Challenges

    Indoor Ironman

    Ironman is composed of a 26.2 mile run, 112 mile bike ride and a 2.4 mile swim. All distances can be completed at the YMCA or outdoors.

    The competition will be August 24 – September 18.

    To log miles, please email rachel.marshall@ymcahuntsville.org. All finishers will receive a t-shirt.

    100 Mile Swim Club

    Swim Challenges

    Think you have what it takes to be in the 100 Mile Swim Club? The goal is to swim 100 miles within a year’s time. Start date is January 1st. Registration is open throughout the year. 100 Mile Swim Club is available at the Hogan and Southeast Family YMCAs. When you reach 100 miles, get your name added to the club plaque and receive a commemorative t-shirt. Challenge is for YMCA members only.

    Swim for the Beads Challenge

    Swim Challenges

    Laissez les bon temps rouler! Come swim to Mobile for Mardi Gras right here at your Y. It’s 365 miles from Huntsville to Mobile. Can you swim 265 laps during Mardi Gras? If you complete the swim, you’ll win a t-shirt! Prizes will be awarded!

    Swim for the Beads Challenge is at the Southeast Y only.

    Myzone Challenge

    Earn 2,000 Myzone Effort Points (MEPs) in a month and enter to win a YMCA hoodie! Accept the invite in your Myzone App under challenges or via your branches email invitation. You’ll wear your Myzone heart rate monitor each time you work out and earn your MEPS. Once you have accepted the challenge, you will automatically be entered into the drawing if you reach 2,000 MEPS.
