Heart of the Valley YMCA Seeking Future Soccer Stars, Coaches to Help Inspire Next Generation

Huntsville, AL –  February 10, 2025 – The Heart of the Valley YMCA is excited to announce the launch of its upcoming youth soccer season, providing children ages 3-13 of all skill levels the opportunity to stay active, build friendships and develop critical life skills through the power of sports. Along with welcoming new players, the Y is actively seeking dedicated coaches and enthusiastic volunteers to ensure a fun, safe and supportive environment for all participants.

“We’re more than just a Y soccer league—we’re building character and community,” said Jeff Collen, Interim CEO. “Our program helps kids grow physically, socially and emotionally. We’re also looking for coaches and volunteers who want to make a lasting impact on young lives in our Huntsville community.”

Registration is now open for youth participants and spots are filling quickly. Whether a child is new to the sport or a seasoned player, Y soccer focuses on skill-building, sportsmanship and having fun.

Why Coach or Volunteer for Y Soccer?

The Y welcomes coaches and volunteers from all backgrounds—no prior experience is necessary. Training and support are provided to ensure all coaches and helpers feel confident in their roles. You’ll experience being a mentor and role model for young athletes; gain leadership and coaching experience; and connect with families and fellow volunteers in the community while making a difference.
