Youth Soccer

Youth Soccer is a great introduction to team sports, and it teaches the importance of teamwork, cooperation, and sportsmanship. Our Youth Soccer program is open to children ages 3-13, and all experience levels are welcome. Your child will learn the basics of soccer and develop a variety of personal and athletic skills along the way.

    Chase Your Goals

The Heart of the Valley YMCA is a leading provider of youth soccer, with a focus on youth development at the heart of every season. The Y emphasizes teamwork and sportsmanship, along with an appreciation for the game. Through engaging practices and age-appropriate instruction, children develop fundamental skills and movement while building confidence on and off the field. With both spring and fall seasons available, Y  Soccer offers opportunities for players of all skill levels.

At the Y, we are committed to strengthening healthy kids, families, and communities. We prioritize family involvement, positive competition over rivalry, and participation over winning. Our focus on team-building, individual development, and character growth helps foster a positive self-image, fair play, and mutual respect for others.

Families are encouraged to be more than spectators—whether serving as volunteer coaches or cheering from the sidelines, your involvement helps create a supportive and encouraging experience for every child.

Spring soccer registration is now closed. Fall Soccer registration opens on June 15 for Y members and June 22 for Non-members, with leagues available at the Southeast Family YMCA in Huntsville and the Hogan Family YMCA in Madison.

Active Play

With all of the running involved in soccer, there’s no doubt that your child will be active on the field! Regular physical activity, especially running and performing soccer drills, will help your child improve their cardiovascular health and build strong muscles and bones. Regular physical activity can also help improve mood, increase energy levels, help lessen feelings of anxiety and depression, maintain a healthy weight, and improve coordination.

Team Bonding

Because soccer is a team-based sport, children will develop communication skills as they coordinate with their teammates. These communication skills can help your child at home, at school, and far beyond the soccer field. and inclusive environment, which can help to create lasting friendships.

The YMCA Promise

At the YMCA, our promise is that everyone plays, and everyone wins. All of our Youth Sports programs, including Youth Soccer, strive to enhance every child’s sports skills, personal growth, and character development. Our goal is to provide every child with a safe, fun, and positive environment to learn new skills and create memories that will last a lifetime.
