Being prepared for an emergency is the most effective way to reduce the risk of injury and possibly death. This class will certify you in Adult/Child/Infant and two-person CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).
Includes instruction in fundamental skills for respiratory and cardiac emergencies. Teaches rescue breathing, obstructed airway management, Basic First Aid, CPR, oxygen administration and using an AED (Automated Electronic Defibrillator). Learn more with the YMCA.
CPR Training Programs
New Parent CPR/First Aid
This course is designed for parents and caregivers of young children. This course will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving children and infants. Through a combination of self-paced online learning and instructor-led classroom skill session you will have the opportunity to practice and demonstrate skill competencies required for certification. Participants will be emailed approximately 1 week before the course date containing a link to the online learning. Online learning must be completed prior to the class date.
Healthcare Provider CPR/AED Training
This is a 3 hour course that teaches you basic CPR techniques, AED usage, barrier device skills and emergency choking measures for adult, child and the infant victim. The healthcare provider course is of an extensive course. The curriculum includes CPR for adult, child and infant, relief of a Foreign Body Airway Obstruction in both responsive and unresponsive victims, bag-mask ventilation as well as rescue breathing with mouth to mouth and mouth to barrier device, use of an AED for adults and 2-rescuer CPR.
