Heart of the Valley YMCA Receives $10,000 Contribution from L.L.Bean in Celebration of Huntsville Store Opening
Partnership supports expanded access to summer camp opportunities for local youth
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Heart of the Valley YMCA is proud to announce it will receive a $10,000 contribution from L.L.Bean in conjunction with the brand’s grand opening at Bridge Street Town Centre on April 3, 2026. The investment reflects a shared commitment to strengthening community and expanding access to transformative outdoor experiences for children and families across North Alabama.
The contribution will support YMCA programs that connect youth to camp and sports programs, with a particular focus on scholarships for families who may not otherwise have access to these opportunities. Through these experiences, children build confidence, develop friendships, and benefit from the lasting impact of time spent outside.
“For generations, the YMCA has helped young people discover who they are and what they can achieve,” said Ginny Langbehn, Chief Mission Advancement Officer of Heart of the Valley YMCA. “We are grateful to L.L.Bean for investing in our community and helping ensure more children can experience the joy and belonging that come from summer camp and outdoor experiences with their peers.”
As part of its commitment to the community, L.L.Bean will make a $10,000 contribution to the Heart of the Valley YMCA. Since 2022, L.L.Bean has contributed $2.8 million nationally to YMCA Summer Camp scholarships, allowing local YMCAs to provide transformative summer camp experiences to underserved children and ensuring more kids can enjoy the lasting benefits of time spent outdoors.
The Huntsville store opening marks L.L.Bean’s first retail location in Alabama and includes a weekend of community-focused celebrations and outdoor-inspired activities. The Heart of the Valley YMCA is honored to be among the local partners recognized as part of this milestone.
Heart of the Valley YMCA is currently in its “Year of YES” annual giving campaign, a larger initiative focused on expanding access, strengthening programs, and deepening community impact.
