HEMSI and Margarita Society Deliver Gifts & Good Will

Children at the YMCA Downtown Early Childhood Education Center always look forward to a visit from their friends at HEMSI (Huntsville Emergency Management Services). Every December, HEMSI employees collect toys, wrap them, individually mark them for ECE children and deliver the toys personally in a shiny ambulance. This year's delivery was on Dec. 16, and even with COVID precautions, the children were still able to open their gifts and thank the HEMSI staff from six feet away.

Other holiday activities at the YMCA Downtown, Southeast and Northwest ECEs included Christmas parties with gifts for every child donated by the Margarita Society. More than 150 gifts selected to be age-appropriate were provided to the ECEs for distribution to infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
