About Leaders in Training
Ages 13 to 14 years old
The Leaders in Training (LIT) Program at YMCA Camp Cha-La-Kee is designed to help teens ages 13-14 develop leadership skills while learning what it takes to be a great camp counselor in a safe, fun environment in the great outdoors. LIT programs help teens explore their individual talents while they build leadership skills, group skills, self-confidence and character.

LIT Days
The Camp Cha-La-Kee experience for older campers
Whether your camper has been coming to YMCA Camp Cha-La-Kee for years or is brand new to camp, LIT will provide your older camper an excellent opportunity to work on real life skills such as independence, time management and team work. Days are organized with traditional camp activities for half of each day with leadership skill-building the rest of the day. LIT is a two-week program for campers ages 13-14.
Raggers Program
For Ages 12+
This optional, worldwide goal-setting program is available for campers ages 12 and up at our overnight camp. Rags are outward symbols of the acceptance of an inner challenge for personal and Christian growth. Mentors will work with those in the Raggers program to develop short-term and long-term goals for personal growth. This is a great opportunity for your tween or teen to grow in so many ways alongside their peers.
