YMCA Preschool: Quality, Affordable Child Care
Licensed, affordable child care is a basic requirement of workforce development for our local community. The YMCA Child Development Services program is comprehensive, beginning with the Y’s Way to The Creative Curriculum including subjects such as literacy, science, math, social studies, art, and technology taught in age-appropriate doses.
All of our child development programs have trained, caring and experienced staff, and nutritious meals and snacks are approved by the Child and Adult Care Food Program. In addition, we incorporate daily fitness in children and promote the Y’s core character values of caring, honesty, responsibility, and respect.
Because YMCA Child Development Services came about from the merger of the YMCA Child Care program with the Huntsville Child Care program, the Y is positioned to expand its goal of providing affordable, licensed child care to all parts of its five-county service area. A high priority for the YMCA is developing programs and services that will expand child care opportunities within the service area of the YMCA including Madison, Marshall, Morgan, Limestone and Jackson counties.
